For scholars, researchers, and anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of Islam, holy books are more than reading material. They serve as references for finding the knowledge they seek. Through Dar Al Kutub Al-Islamiyah, a wide range of turath books and Islamic publications are republished in various formats, even allowing customers to choose their preferred paper type.
As demand grew for books and Islamic references that could reach readers across different regions, the DKIslamiyah website also required to accommodate growing interest, particularly from customers interested in purchase collections of holy books and hadith in larger quantities.
This growth also brought new operational considerations for the publisher, including the need for a separate management system that could accommodate broader market demand without placing the burden of manual distribution on the publishing team. For this reason, DKIslamiyah entrusted Tonjoo with redeveloping its WordPress website and expanding its e-commerce capabilities through WooCommerce.
The redevelopment was designed to provide a stronger foundation for transactions while leaving room for DKIslamiyah to expand its e-commerce capabilities over time. This approach also aligns with the needs of an e-commerce platform that connects transactions with the operational processes behind them. As part of the development, Tonjoo introduced an Add to Cart to Checkout flow and added functions to support product, inventory, and shipping management.
One of the key developments in this project was warehouse-based inventory management across nine cities. Each warehouse can manage its own stock levels and fulfill orders for customers, allowing DKIslamiyah to track product availability at each location without combining all inventory into a single stock count. Customers can also check product availability based on their selected store location.
For your information, the shipping process is supported by Tonjoo’s E-commerce Plugin, which connects the website with courier service APIs. Shipping rates can be retrieved directly through the APIs, so users do not have to check shipping costs separately on courier websites. Inventory can also be managed according to the warehouse responsible for fulfilling each customer order.
The system also supports shipment tracking and delivery information management. Once an order is shipped, its tracking number and shipping details are recorded in the system and shared with customers via email. This keeps the transaction flow connected beyond checkout and through the delivery process.
The redevelopment gave DKIslamiyah a more complete e-commerce foundation for managing transactions while supporting its operational processes in a more structured way. WooCommerce handles the purchasing flow, while the custom warehouse functionality, shipping integration, and shipment tracking connect transactions with the order fulfillment process.
With this foundation in place, the DKIslamiyah website has greater room to expand its e-commerce capabilities as business requirements and product distribution continue to grow.
