“There is only one valid definition of a business purpose: to create a customer.”
— Peter F. Drucker, The Practice of Management, 1954
This quote reflects the idea that winning customers is not simply about offering the right products. It is also about creating systems and processes that make it easier for potential customers to find solutions to their needs, whether they are looking for products or services.
In today’s digital economy, a website has become an important touchpoint in this process, from introducing a business and helping customers discover products to completing transactions. This principle also applies to InovaKit, a stainless steel fabrication business offering a wide range of products for hospitals, hotels, offices, places of worship, and other institutions.
With a diverse product catalog and relatively complex transaction requirements, InovaKit needed a website that could function as an e-commerce platform while also introducing the company’s capabilities without making it difficult for customers to purchase or order products. This was particularly important for foundations, B2B and B2G markets, offices and government institutions, as well as micro-businesses and individual customers.
Tonjoo was chosen to address the needs of PT Asasi Jaya Madani by developing the InovaKit website into a WordPress-based e-commerce platform using WooCommerce, while also turning it into a digital product catalog portal.
The development included adapting the selected website layout for better align with InovaKit’s business identity, developing informative pages to introduce the company’s capabilities, enabling flexible transactions through an Add to Cart feature, and configuring shipping options based on InovaKit’s operational requirements.
Tonjoo also structured InovaKit’s digital catalog portal to make it easier for potential customers to explore products and for the company to manage its catalog. To support these activities, the UI/UX and product search functionality were refined with a structured and consistent approach across pages, allowing the company to update product information more efficiently.
This combination of features gives InovaKit greater flexibility in managing transactions while providing a practical e-commerce experience, even though its transaction process can differ from conventional retail purchases.
To further support its operations, Tonjoo integrated the Tonjoo Shipping Plugin into InovaKit’s e-commerce system. The website supports two courier management mechanisms. For couriers connected through an API, shipping rates are retrieved automatically from the courier’s API, ensuring that the displayed costs follow the rates provided by the service.
InovaKit can also add custom couriers with independently defined names and shipping rates. This allows the company to add specific delivery services to the system whenever required, without relying solely on the default courier list.
Through these capabilities, the InovaKit website serves two functions at once: introducing the business and facilitating transactions.
